Andrew T. McAfee, M.D., M.S.

Andrew T. McAfee, Executive Director, joined the Drug Safety epidemiology group in 2004. He earned a BS in mathematics and physics from Yale University in 1983, an MD from Boston University School of Medicine in 1990, and an MS in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health in 2002. After completing a residency in emergency medicine at Boston Medical Center in 1994, he served as associate research director and the director of information systems for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and as an instructor at Harvard Medical School. He serves as statistical consultant to the peer-reviewed journal Academic Emergency Medicine. His research has focused on the delivery and impact of emergency care with an emphasis on gender and racial disparities. At i3 Drug Safety, he is working as an epidemiologist and as a medical consultant on pharmacosafety projects.
