Senior Scientific Leadership team Biographies

David D. Dore joined the i3 Drug Safety epidemiology group in 2007. Dr. Dore received a PharmD from the University of Rhode Island and a PhD in Epidemiology from Brown Medical School. Prior to joining i3, Dr. Dore was a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research at Brown University where his activities included periodic teaching and multidisciplinary research in pharmacoepidemiology, health policy, healthcare quality, and geriatrics/gerontology. Dr. Dore’s primary areas of interest are the non-experimental study of drug effects, drug safety, and quality in medication use. Dr. Dore has conducted pharmacoepidemiologic studies using various data sources, but he is primarily interested in understanding and using health-insurance claims for etiologic research. He has served as a peer-reviewer for multiple journals including the Annals of Internal Medicine and Archives of Internal Medicine. Dr. Dore is experienced in conducting epidemiologic research in both academic and pharmaceutical-industry settings, where his recent work evaluated statins for keratinocyte carcinoma prevention and the influence of atypical antipsychotic choice on risk of bone fracture in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Dore serves as adjunct faculty at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University where he is involved in teaching epidemiology and health policy.
