John D. Seeger, PharmD, DrPH
John D. Seeger, Chief Scientist, joined i3 Drug Safety in 2001. Dr. Seeger received a PharmD from the University of Arizona and a DrPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. Trained as a clinical pharmacist, Dr. Seeger spent three years on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Chicago where he also completed a residency in pharmacy practice. As an epidemiologist, Dr. Seeger’s research interest is in predictors of drug therapy and research methods that incorporate these predictors. He has worked extensively with propensity scores and related methods that seek to mitigate confounding by modeling drug therapy. He has applied these methods to research involving rheumatologic, cardiovascular, neurologic, and gastrointestinal disorders. His research experience at i3 Drug Safety has mostly related to post-marketing drug safety within the context of health insurance claims data. He has authored or co-authored more than 25 articles in the peer-reviewed medical literature. |
