Andrea Spannheimer

Vice President, i3 Innovus Late Phase International

Andrea Spannheimer, Vice President, i3 Innovus Late Phase International. Located in i3’s Munich office, Andrea leads i3’s late phase unit internationally. In this function, she is involved in developing study approaches as well as ensuring that the studies executed in her division are performed with high quality, in time and in budget. These studies include interventional Phase IIIb/IV studies, observational trials such as disease and product registries, Health Economic and Outcomes Research projects as well as Epidemiology and Patient-reported Outcome projects. Prior to joining i3, she worked for 14 years at another large global CRO in the areas of clinical research, late phase and health economics. The last position she held there was Senior Director, Late Phase Europe & Asia Pacific. In this function, she was responsible for the Late Phase departments in 11 locations and was overseeing more than 100 Late Phase studies including very large studies with approximately 70 000 patients and 15 000 sites. Her academic training includes a master of science in biology from the University of Erlangen. Andrea has authored numerous articles and has provided various training courses in the area of late phase, health economics, registries and health-related quality of life.
