Linus Jönsson, MD, MSc, PhD

Vice President

Linus Jönsson was Managing Director of European Health Economics, a health economics and outcomes research consultancy, which joined i3 Innovus in 2007. He is now Vice President of i3 Innovus and heads operations in Sweden. Dr Jönsson was instrumental in building up European Health Economics to a successful team of 17 qualified researchers. He earned his MD from Uppsala University and his MSc in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics. He is a licensed physician and has worked for two years at St Görans hospital in Stockholm. In 2003, Dr Jönsson presented his PhD thesis at the Karolinska Institute, focusing on economic evaluation of treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. His research has focused on health economics of disorders of the central nervous system, including dementia, multiple sclerosis, depression and schizophrenia. He has also led projects in a wide range of disease areas e.g. cardiovascular disease, diabetes, breast cancer, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, urinary incontinence, glaucoma, back pain, chronic kidney disease, psoriasis and asthma. Dr Jönsson has authored over 40 original publications, reviews and book chapters. He is affiliated with the Alzheimer’s Research Center at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and scientific advisor to the Swedish National Board on Health and Welfare.
