Michael A. Nelson, Pharm.D., B.C.P.S.

Regional Vice President, Health Economics and Outcomes Research

Mr. Nelson is responsible for U.S. research operations for the Economic and Outcomes Research group and also serves as a clinical consultant during the design and interpretation phases of research projects. Prior to joining i3 Magnifi (now i3 Innovus) in 1999, Dr. Nelson directed a team of pharmacoeconomic and outcomes researchers at SmithKline Beecham, supporting information-based product development and the evaluation of the impact of health care management programs. He has also consulted with health plans on formulary design, drug use evaluation, and disease management program design and implementation for Diversified Pharmaceutical Services (DPS), a former subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group. In addition, Dr. Nelson served as the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at Midway Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota and as an adjunct clinical faculty member at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Nelson earned his doctorate degree in pharmacy and bachelor of science degree at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. He has been board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties since 1993.
