Principal ConsultantsMilton C. Weinstein, Ph.D.
Dr. Weinstein served as Vice President of U.S. Operations for Innovus from 1998 until 2006 at the time of the formation of i3 Innovus. He is the Henry J. Kaiser Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. In addition, he is the Director of the Program on Economic Evaluation of Medical Technology in the Department of Health Policy and Management, and academic director of Harvard’s Center for Health Decision Science. Dr. Weinstein is best known for his research on cost-effectiveness of medical practices and for developing methods of economic evaluation and decision analysis in health care. He is an author or co-author of four books: Cost-Effectiveness in Health and Medicine, the report of the Panel of Cost Effectiveness in Health and Medicine; Clinical Decision Analysis; Decision Making in Health and Medicine: Integrating Evidence and Values; and Hypertension: a Policy Perspective. Dr. Weinstein has also published more than 250 papers in peer-reviewed medical, public health, and economics journals. He is a member of the Health Science Policy Council of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Value in Health. He has served as an associate editor of Medical Decision Making and reviews manuscripts for many journals including The New England Journal of Medicine. He is an elected member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and a recipient of both the Award for Career Achievement from the Society for Medical Decision Making and the Avedis Donabedian Outcomes Research Lifetime Achievement Award from ISPOR. Dr. Weinstein earned a doctorate degree in public policy and decision science from Harvard University. |
