i3 is ready to compose an entire freestanding team to meet your needs. Called functional service provision (FSP) teams, they often serve roles equivalent to a small department—jobs too small for a CRO, but too large for internal resources or one-off staffing. Historically, FSP teams have achieved our clients’ pressing objectives when a headcount freeze would have otherwise stood in the way of progress, or when a discrete six-month project, for example, did not warrant additional permanent staff.

FSP teams are:

• Typically led by a supervising project manager who is employed by us but has a solid line to your manager (in many cases, our clients’ actual management burden is reduced)
• Engaged on a mid- to long-term task-oriented basis
• Self-reliant and highly capable

• The budget costs of FSP teams are substantially less than full-service models
• You maintain markedly more control over an FSP team than CROs will typically permit

Strategic staffing transfers

In order to reduce headcount, our clients have transferred their internal employees to i3 under agreement to re-engage them as an FSP team. In this way, you may be better able to meet fiscal goals while maintaining full functionality of employees who know your system and culture.
